In the meanwhile, take this! I'm DONE!!

And finally...

IT'S FINALS!!
Sorry for the lack of posts! I promise, and like always, have a "End Season Post" with lots of work you to enjoy! Good luck to everyone on their finals and/or their deadlines! End strong! We're almost there!

Here, take some music to keep awake for those all nighters!
As well as something to keep you inspired... in some tentacle-destructive kinda way...

We're Back!

With that, here's a quick assignment from Chris' class:

Then here's a not so quick *cough render time* animation test for the scene above:

~

Other progress on our VFX project that I'm working on with Daniel and Jay.
Neon stag test!

Then the models I made. Jay's almost done rigging them too!

~
Then in this huge photo fest-- a few highlights of my 48 hour visit up to SF during Spring break!

^ Me and Jay @ ILM!

^ Craig joined us too!

^ I wanted to ALWAYS go to the
Suthro Baths since I was in Thailand!

^ Mark and Victor

^ Noms noms!

^ I was like a dog tied outside of a cafe--denied, as I watched master
Craig drive inside. I was staying less than a mile away.
So at night I pointed my head in Pixar's direction.

Hope everyone's week is going well! I'll post soon again!

Spring Break!

Headpieces! Here are some Orthos from Chris Eckardt's class!
I'm glad with how the styling turned out! Chris said the styling could be fit for an animation too... hmmm? I would do something different, but I would still use a color AO. Color AOs are so much fun!

Then here are some quicky quick renders straight from Maya from class on Friday:

I also have stuff from my animation class with Bobby Coddington, but I want to tweak it some more before posting it. Oh so the Internship Fair went pretty sweet! I got a few offers, and I got to talk to some awesome people, some of which where from Brickyard VFX, Sony Imageworks and Three Legged Legs!

Anyway, everyone have some well deserved sleep! Then have an awesome Spring Break or time to relax! I'll still be working through the week here and there, but if you're up in SF, that's where I'm headed for three days! See you up there!

Make sure to check out this commercial too! I heart it:

Renewed with Love

Here's a cool video to watch before my blogger header business:

So long old blogger layout, I will miss thee! My old header, was after all, the grand creator of what this blog is today. It helped me process the projects, people and inspirations in my life. So I'm continuing it, still sticking with the same name, Ellipsis Closure.

So you know, I hope you enjoy the renewed blog! Coding took a while! Plus, check out the pages I've added! If there are any clunks, let me know so I can get on it! WHOO!

Coffee Mafia - finished!

I FINISHED! Here you go!

Plus me and my friends just played with 40 Third grade students over at the Loyola Elementary School! So much fun! I don't know how I did it after working all night, then prepping the day for them and having class from 3 pm till 9 pm... I say it's a day well accomplished!

I'm watching Flubber right now in my comfy bed (which I haven't made contact with since Weds), how great is that?! I just got out of class, so I hope everyone's midterms are wrapping up! Good luck still for those of us doing the Internship Fair! Go OTIS, GO!

coffee mafia wip

I couldn't snag a Domo coffee cup before they ran out at 7/11... so I made one myself! It's an Eckardt assignment that we get to work on more for next week, which is a good thing as I took only 5ish hours on it. So still a WIP!

Still midterms through, will update this post later with our VFX set extention! Plus NEW WIP business card design!

Here, a video also! Must sleep now!

captain steiner and the midterms

OH! and I have to say this first of all things... I met and got to talk to Neville Page! Man that guy is like a genius! Luckily I had also just bought January's 3D World Mag earlier that day, and was able to get him to sign it too!

He was really awesome to talk to, and I can't explain how awesome it was! He wrote, "Be Furious, Be Focused, Be Fabulous!" Great words of inspiration!

Okay... now on to:
Midterms!
However, here's a little organic model i did in 9ish hours for Chris. I still need to give him color and textures later, however it's a semi real figure of Captain Steiner form Final Fantasy IX!

So much more animation stuff coming soon, and I'm working on the header as well as a little illustration! Good luck friends with Midterms or Deadlines!

So Fly!

Posted in Labels: , ,

FLIES! So many flies! This week we had some time to experiment with a fly that Chris Eckardt supplied us with. We had to rig the little bug up and shade/texture it up. I actually enjoyed it a lot, so here's the stuff:

^ Simple environment render with the buggers!

^ Electron Microscope render

^ Then these where some Toon shader renders

Then a quick assignment for Coddington! I used a little sound clip from the Iron Giant, where Hogarth brings in a squirrel. The audio is really soft, but he says, "Oh, but he's not a pet mom... he's a FRIEND!"

Oh and it's almost Valentines' Day and Chinese New Year! My blog is almost a year old!
